06/26/2010 - Endicott, NY (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Dan Forsman fired his second consecutive six- under 66 on Saturday to move in front after the second round of the Dick's Sporting Goods Open.
Forsman finished 36 holes at 12-under 132 and is one stroke clear at En-Joie Golf Course.
Brad Bryant was tied for the lead until a bogey at the closing hole. He finished with a five-under 67 and is alone in second place at 11-under-par 133.
First-round leader Wayne Levi rebounded on the back nine for a three-under 69. He is tied for third place with Russ Cochran (66) at minus-10.
Forsman began the second round one shot behind Levi, but flew out of the gate. He birdied his first three holes, but Bryant stayed near the top of the leaderboard thanks to an eagle at the par-four second.
Both players birdied the seventh and eighth holes and Bryant sank a tough 10- footer for birdie at 10 to tie for the lead. It was a short-lived joint leadership. Forsman ran home an eight-footer of his own for birdie to stay one clear.
At the par-five 12th, the pair once again made birdies to keep Forsman a stroke ahead. Two holes later, Forsman's tee ball at the par-three 14th came up short and right. Bryant was eight feet from the flag and Forsman chipped six feet short of the stick. Bryant missed his birdie try, but Forsman's shorter par putt stayed above ground, knotting the two atop the leaderboard at 12-under.
Bryant laid up at the short par-four 16th, while Forsman drove just short of the putting surface. Bryant stiffed his approach to four feet, while Forsman hit an awkward chip to eight feet. Forsman missed his birdie effort, but caught a break when Bryant's little birdie putt for the lead slid by the hole.
Both players had decent looks at birdie at 17, but walked off with pars. Bryant drove into the rough off the tee at 18 and never recovered. He made bogey and Forsman converted a routine par to take the one-shot lead.
Forsman will be in search of his third Champions Tour victory and second in 2010. He captured the Regions Charity Classic in May.
Mark Calcavecchia's Champions Tour debut has been a good one. He shot a four- under 68 on Saturday and is tied for fifth place with Nick Price and Bill Glasson, who both had 66s in round two, at nine-under 135.
NOTES: Defending champion Lonnie Nielsen struggled to a two-over 74 and fell from a tie for fourth after round one to a share of 28th at three-under par...Jim Colbert and Don Pooley withdrew from the tournament.

Academy Award Betting Odds for Best Picture Offer Great Value
If there is any category that is not an obvious win for any one nominee in this year's Academy Awards, it would be for Best Picture. Sure the Departed is a 5/7 favorite, but that's hardly anything when we look at Helen Mirren and her "out-of-reach" 1 to 40 odds (which means you would win a whopping $1 for every $40 bet).
For value, take a look at MySportsbook.com Oscars betting odds on my personal favorite, The Queen - a remarkable 12 to 1 long shot. The film hasn't won any pre-awards for Best Picture (compared to The Departed and Little Miss Sunshine), but there is a tremendous following and it is a strong enough film to warrant a surprise win.
TV Guide advises Oscar watchers should be cautioned not to discount the drama "Babel" with its strong social themes about overcoming communication gaps among people of different cultures.
"While 'Babel' lost several guild awards to 'Sunshine' and 'Departed,' it still enjoys loyal support, and historically Oscar voters favor dramas with social messages over comedies like 'Sunshine' and violent crime movies like 'Departed'."
"It hasn't done well in the guilds, which means there isn't much industry support," said Tom O'Neil of awards site TheEnvelope.com, "But several critics are expecting it to win, and that gets my attention." Babel had 7 to 2 odds at press time.
Who is to say independently produced Little Miss Sunshine won't be this year's Crash. Last year, Crash won for Best Motion Picture, shocking those who bet on gay cowboy flick, Brokeback Mountain, as the favorite to win.

MySportsbook.com Releases World Series Championship Lines
New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox early favorites to win 2008 World Series
The Major League Baseball season starts this weekend and MySportsbook.com, a leading online sportsbook for over 8 years, is the first to offer baseball sports betting lines on who will win the 2007 World Series.
"The World Series is the biggest baseball event in the sports betting world and MySportsbook.com is excited that we are first to market with betting lines on every team," says Tim Dalton, Marketing Director, MySportsbook.com. "We are getting things ready for a great baseball season and our members are looking forward to our Player Payback Bonuses, as well as Dime Lines, all season long."
Going in to this weekend, MySportsbook.com's favorites to win the World Series are the New York Yankees at 7-2 and last year’s winners the Chicago White Sox at 9-2.
"These betting lines are ripe for the picking," Dalton added, "baseball fans know that the season is long and many factors, including players staying healthy, will affect these Future odds as the baseball season progresses. Betting on your favorite team in the beginning of the season could prove quite lucrative. We are seeing examples of this right now in the NCAA College Basketball Tournament with a lucky few that placed pre-season bets on George Mason to win it all. Anything can happen."
